Hi!
My name’s Eli London.
I grew up in Cleveland.
Then moved to the East Coast to attend Vassar College and have lived in New York City since 2012.
Now tell stories for the internet.
After a brief (and underpaid) stint as an intern at a branding agency I began my career in the media world at InsideHook, a digital lifestyle publication for men. There I started as a part-time assistant to the founder and worked my way up to the Director of Partnerships and User Acquisition. In my time at InsideHook I grew the email subscriber base 12x, launched multiple newsletter verticals and created an affiliate business from scratch that drove over 10% of the company’s annual revenue by the time of my departure. I led many high profile partnerships, led the creation of all marketing materials and growth tactics and contributed heavily to the editorial team with input on content strategy as well as pitching and writing countless articles myself. I also worked on many branded content campaigns helping to conceive, write and produce written and video content for clients like Mercedes Benz, Tag Heuer, Samsung and more.
I left InsideHook in 2019 to travel in Latin America for a year but continued to freelance write for InsideHook as well publications like Courier, Paper Mag, The Hustle and others. I focused on lifestyle and brand-related journalism – writing about trends in travel, commerce, culture and more. In addition I worked as a marketing and content strategist for brands like Away, The Daily Upside, Fig. 1 Cosmetics, Happy Flower and more.
During this time I also started a newsletter, The Breads, which I grew from zero subscribers to 2k in a little over a year. Originally just a practice to make me write more, The Breads became a trusted curatorial source of internet content for subscribers. The analysis, insights and humor kept subscribers coming back week after week, and spurred them to share with friends – the growth was completely word of mouth and organic. The newsletter was on hiatus but has recently returned with a vengeance.
Next I worked as the Director of Content Strategy for FEVO, a tech company that provides 800+ world-class brands in sports, music and live entertainment with revolutionary e-commerce software that helps them sell more tickets, reach new fans and capture more customer data. While there I, along with the Chief Creative Officer, captained a complete rebranding of FEVO, resulting in a 100+ page brand bible outlining the new core values, brand voice, brand positioning, mission statement, visual identity and more. I also worked cross departmentally to reimagine and redefine the strategy for both product and content marketing.
I’m also an avid film photographer, having shown in spaces like Botanica Grove, Seven House Gallery and more. I have also curated a one-night show that saw 300+ people pass through during the course of the evening.
I am also very familiar with screenwriting and have created, produced, directed and acted in various web series.
If you’d like to chat, I’m always up for meeting new people. I’m open for consulting, commissions, freelance or full time work. Even if we don’t end up working together I’d still love to connect.
